The Hurstville city library has web 2.0 facilities available for its reading public with the use of the internet, and their access to other features such as podcasts. The online access is the major use of web 2.0 within the library, with library patrons completing their own online searches within the library.
The childrens section within the library has its own catalogue, and within this most fields of knowledge are covered. Childrens reading material is in abundance as is a playing area and childrens educational toys.
The junior fiction area covers books which would be for recreational use, and copies of school books and fiction texts which may be used at school. There are books covering the core areas of the curriculum, i.e. books covering all subject areas
The adult fiction has a comprehensive collection of contemporary and classic authors. Books which are popular in contemporary fiction cover most of the major genres, including science fiction, mystery, romance and adventure. These books are kept on the shelves for the general public to use for recreational reading.
